Del Mar Homes
Are you looking for an amazing home? Maybe overlooking the ocean? Maybe on top of the cliffs? Maybe within walking distance of some of the most fabulous restaurants and upscale boutique shopping in all of San Diego County? Look no farther than Del Mar or La Jolla homes! But be prepared, Del Mar and La Jolla are home to some of the most expensive (and most prestigious) real estate in the world!
Because Del Mar is such a uniquely specialized community, Del Mar home buyers may not find exactly the right homes in Del Mar alone. If you are searching for a Del Mar home and not having any luck, you may want to expand your search to some nearby communities – La Jolla, Solana Beach, Rancho Santa Fe, Cardiff, Carmel Valley, or Carlsbad.
Del Mar boasts a beautiful little shopping village, a gorgeous California state beach, and the Del Mar Race Track and San Diego Fairgrounds.
Del Mar’s thoroughbred club was created by much of the old Hollywood elite – Jimmy Durante and Bing Crosby to name just two! Del Mar and Rancho Santa Fe pay tribute to these “pioneers” through Crosby Estates and Jimmy Durante Blvd.
Please make yourself at home. Search our site for Del Mar real estate and the Del Mar MLS. If you have any questions about Del Mar real estate (Del Mar mortgages or interest rates), or any of the other local communities – La Costa, Carlsbad, La Jolla, Rancho Santa Fe, etc., please contact us. We are always happy to answer questions.

One of My Favorite Times of Year – San Diego Restaurant Week – NOW!
Yesterday – Sunday, January 17th, San Diego Restaurant Week returned to fabulous restaurants around San Diego County. The event will run from Sunday, January 17th through Friday, January 22nd.
Whether you are looking to dine in Coronado at Peohe’s, 1500 Ocean at the Hotel Del, or Coronado Boathouse 1887, George’s at the Cove or the Marine Room in La Jolla, or maybe Jake’s or Pacifica in Del Mar, the Chart House in Solana Beach, or Blue Fire Grill in La Costa, there are options for everyone!
Now, in its fifth year, San Diego Restaurant Week is an absolute hit. This was started in 2004 to bring patrons to restaurants for a week after the summer boom, when kids are back in school, and business is typically down. Popular, exclusive restaurants started offering three course prix fixe menus consisting of an appetizer, a main course, and dessert for either $20, $30, or $40.
If you look at many of the restaurants’ menus, you will find that many of them are offering the entire three course meal for less than just the main course on a typical night. For those of you who know me and Mike, you know, we love to do nice things on a budget. I guess it is that financial advisor in me! So, we look forward to San Diego Restaurant Week each year. We always use it as an opportunity to visit some old favorites – or take a new culinary adventure!
This year, due to the lagging economy, the restaurants added a second San Diego Restaurant Week. According the San Diego Restaurant Week published reports, the January 2009 week was the most successful ever – with over 180 participating restaurants and a 22% increase in diners over the 2008 event!
At the San Diego Restaurant Week’s website, you will find a comprehensive list of participating restaurants that can be sorted by price, type of cuisine, or location. Have fun and happy dining!
If you have anything you would like to see covered in our blog, please let us know. We are always here to answer questions and meet your San Diego real estate needs.
