La Costa Town Square Update

Categories: Carlsbad, La Costa, La Costa Greens, La Costa Oaks, La Costa Ridge, La Costa Town Square

Carlsbad, CA – As most La Costa, and in particular La Costa Oaks, homeowners know, construction has been halted on La Costa Town Square indefinitely.

A local community organization, North County Advocates, has filed a lawsuit requesting that the development be changed to be more reflective of the neighborhood that it is part of. The corner of La Costa Avenue and Rancho Santa Fe Road is already one of the busiest intersections in Carlsbad. Read the rest of this entry »

Carlsbad Real Estate – Carlsbad Resident Demographic

Categories: Buyers, Carlsbad, La Costa, La Costa Oaks, Sellers

Carlsbad Real Estate For Sale - DemographicsCarlsbad, CA – When you are looking to buy or sell real estate, you often want to know a bit about the other people in your community who are buying or selling.  This may help tell you what prospective families may be able to afford and other items of interest about their buying habits.

Carlsbad, used to be considered, Carlsbad, Village by the sea.  It seems that a town that has now grown to over 100,000 residents and 44,000 homes has become more than just a village.

According to the last Carlsbad census (in 2000), here are some key Carlsbad statistics:
Median Age = 39 years
Median Family Income = $77,151
Residents over 60 = About 20%
Of residents age 25 or older, 93% were high school graduates and 46% had at least a bachelor’s degree.
Estimated by the San Diego Association of Government is that the current median annual income has risen to $107,000.

What this means as a Carlsbad real estate buyer or seller is this – Carlsbad is a niche city.  Your buyers or sellers will more than likely be upper middle class families, with advanced education.  As you are preparing to list or purchase a Carlsbad, CA home, keep this in mind.  If you have any questions about how this may relate to you as you start to make offers on a home or stage your current home for sale, please contact us.  We are always happy to help.
