Now that building has begun on the long awaited La Costa Town Square, more details are emerging.  We have long known that the center would feature a 60,000sqft Vons grocery store.  The rest of the retailers are a mystery, but among them are expected to be a health club, a pet store, two soft good apparel tenants and a drugstore. The project site is designed to allow for a gas station with car wash at the main entrance off Rancho Santa Fe Road & Paseo Lupino, retail space, restaurant space and financial pads for banks.

The project will have a residential component as well, 63 single-family homes built by Davidson Communities east of RSF and 32 Single-family homes on the triangular land west of RSF built by Taylor Morrison.  The low-income housing originally plotted for this parcel has been relocated to the area near El Camino Real & Cassia.
